How to prepare a solar glass drawing.

Glass dimensions follow the module: cell format and layout, construction, junction-box position and the frame design all move the glass. The drawing is where those decisions become a manufacturable order.

1 · Type, thickness, surface

State front or rear use, thickness (2.0 mm and 3.2 mm are the main commercial categories; others follow supplier capability), low-iron requirement, and the surface: AR coating (with the coating requirement stated), texture or pattern if any. Front and rear glass in a glass-glass module are two line items, draw both.

2 · Dimensions & tolerances

Length, width, and their tolerances; diagonal tolerance if squareness matters to your lay-up; thickness tolerance. Remember the interaction: dimensions interact with tempering, very small features and tight radii limit what a tempering line can hold.

3 · Edgework, holes & notches

Edge finish (seamed, ground, polished), corner treatment, and every hole and notch with position, size and tolerance, junction-box holes on rear glass being the classic case. Mark which edges are visible in the final module if appearance matters.

4 · Quality & packing

The optical/visual acceptance basis (defect sizes and counts per zone), the tempering requirement and its test basis, and packing: end-caps or crates, interleave, maximum crate weight for your handling, and marking. Packing agreed on the drawing is packing you can reject against.
